Mountain Maternity COLLABORATIVE MAternity care

Serving Whistler, Pemberton, Birken and Darcy. The Mountain Maternity Collaborative Maternity Care Program is an innovative program that combines care with Midwives, Physicians and Nurse Practitioners.

Your prenatal visits will be every 4 weeks from conception to 28weeks, every 2 weeks from 28-37 weeks and weekly until your have your baby. Prenatal visits are held every Saturday in the Whistler Health Center. Care is shared between myself and two other GP’s.

When you go into labour you’ll deliver at the Squamish hospital with one of our FABULOUS GP’s

Once discharged from the hospital I care for you at home (if in Whistler/Pemby) for the first two weeks and see you in clinic from 2-6 weeks. If you need to deliver in Vancouver with an OB, we’ll still care for you when you return home. We colaborate with many wonderful OB’s at Lions Gate, St. Pauls and BC Women’s hosptial’s.

Weekly breastfeeding drop in clinics are run by myself and two AMAZING Public Health Nurses and are available to support you for AS LONG AS YOU’RE BREASTFEEDING. They are held most Mondays from 1-3pm in the Whistler Health Center. If you’re not a Mountain Maternity Patient, you can attend these too. Just send me an email whistlermidwife@gmail.com to register.

To register as a Patient anytime in your pregnancy just ask your doctor for a referral or call 604.892.3544 and let the administrator know you’d like an appointment in the Whistler clinic.

As a Mountain Maternity Patient if you don’t have a Primary Care provider one can be assigned to you after the birth of your baby

Parenting Specific

Bringing Baby Home : This workshop focuses on helping couples who are experiencing the transition to parenthood by teaching skills to help them strengthen their bond, increase intimacy and regulate conflict.

The course also teaches couples about child development, helps them learn how to co-parent with their partner and discover ways to keep both parents involved. The program teaches sensitive and responsive parenting and promotes the development, social, cognitive and physical development. Also BBH encourages early parent-infant dialogue, which according to research on academic success, serves as the foundation for childhood literacy.
